Speak Your Mind...

Another Kabbalisitc principle, but so true in my life.  Harry Truman once said, "I never give them hell.  I just tell them the truth and they think it's hell."  It's comfortable to tell people what they want to hear.  Sometimes it's more comfortable to agree with someone even if you don't agree with them totally.  I focused on this one of the 72 names of the creator today and WOW!!!  Whoever doubts the power of Kabbalah, should respect the impact it has on the lives of those around you.  Not only did I find myself placing more accountability on others, I found more accountability for myself in the words I was speaking today.

Read more reviews on Madonna's performance at Coachella.  Love the fact that my girl still has her old tricks up her sleeve (or down her hot pants depending on how you look at it).  Hope some of the sets get changed up before the tour though.  She has kinda worn out the whole opening in a disco ball thing.  Still looking forward to going to Philly to see her though!  Speaking of Philly, my cousin Kim called me tonight to tell me that my dad has been doing much better since I told them I was coming home to visit.  That alone makes me feel good about the decision to go see Madonna in Philly (dual purpose trip).

Hi there... Have you met my ego???

Today's Kabbalah teaching was to "Forget Thyself"- pretty difficult when your ego is as strong as mine.  And if you say you don't have an ego, then that's your ego hard at work. I'm convinced that ego is actually an acronym for Everybody's Got One.  We are our own worst enemies.  We allow oue ego to get in the way of success.  We cling to our own opinions.  The more people oppose us, the more entrecnhed we become in our own ideas.  We are constantly getting in our own way.  I'm definitely no exception to this rule.  Life is difficult enough without allowing other perspectives in.  How simple would my life be if I just sat back and actually listened to what people thought or felt and not sit there and think, "okay, what am I going to say next???"?  It's definitely something I'm working on- I need to start listening to my own advice and become an even better version of myself (see! my ego could NOT resist!).

Did you ever have someone that talks to you so much at work, that all you hear coming out of their mouth is the sound of Charlie Brown's teacher???  There is someone like this that I have the MISfortune of dealing with 4 days a week.  One of my other friends from work has her comment about this same person in her blog (www.faerytymes.com/blog - yeah I know, shameless plug for Kat).  But since I can't change the world, I have to change the way I look at it.

Might have more random thoughts for you later... Gotta go workout now...

One of those PUSH days...

Well, today marks my first entry in my blog...  And today, a few things happened.  I started scanning the Zohar this morning (as I do every morning) and it was talking about a trip that was being taken.  For a while today- I was on a trip at work, but looking back, I was really in VICTIM mode and not taking accountability for what I could have done to control my reactions better today- expecially when people that report to you screw up so badly, you have to wonder if that is a reflection on you as their leader.

I received our travel guides from Contiki today for the Greek vacation we are planning on taking later this year.  Found it very interesting that the isle of Santorini is said to have ruins of the Lost City of Atlantis.  Hmmmmmm-- don't think I'll be deep sea diving to figure that one out- leavin it to the locals.
The good stuff just got better at home (better night at home than day at work)- got my reserved parking for the Madonna concert in Philly (YAY!) & my first bill for my car payment (yes- I'm actually excited over that).

Blessings and light... B.-
